Womens Legal Service Sunshine Coast
We work with and for particularly disadvantaged women to resolve legal issues arising from relationship breakdown or violence. The Women`s Rights Unit is headed by women for women. Support is provided by lawyers and social workers during the day and several evenings a week. The unit is interested in all areas of law affecting women, but is very interested in family law and domestic violence issues. The unit is actively involved in community education and legislative reform campaigns aimed at improving the treatment of women through the legal system. WLS provides free legal aid to Queensland women suffering from domestic violence, complex family law and sexual assault WLS does not provide legal aid to men. They do not deal with criminal cases. WLS is a Queensland-wide service, with face-to-face appointments limited to the Brisbane area. The administration and reception cannot provide legal advice. If a customer needs advice, they should contact the helpline. The Women`s Legal Service Queensland (WLS) provides free legal and social assistance in cases of domestic violence, complex family law and sexual assault to women and people who live in Queensland and identify as women. Our aim is to address disadvantage by providing quality legal advice, information and education to the Sunshine Coast community through volunteers and staff.

We are looking for a financial advisor for a full-time or part-time contract position. National Legal Helpline 1800 WLS WLS (1800 957 957) 9am-3pm, Monday to Friday For the safety and comfort of its customers, WLS is a women-only space. The WLSV is funded by the government, but relies heavily on donations and in-kind contributions. Your donation will help make a difference. SCLS staff and volunteers will treat all clients of the service with the utmost courtesy and respect at all times. SCLS ensures that client confidentiality is maintained by all employees or volunteers of the Service. Please feel free to review the department`s written policy on customer privacy.
